The Team Businesses Called Back to Run It
Payroll Intelligence has spent since 2019 helping New Zealand businesses sort out their payroll. Enough of them asked us to keep running it that we built the team that would — that's Tempus.
Where Tempus Comes From
Payroll Intelligence was founded in 2019 to help New Zealand businesses get their payroll right — payroll assessments, and the historical clean-up that follows one. It's detailed work, built on technology Payroll Intelligence developed itself.
Businesses came to Payroll Intelligence because something in their payroll was already going wrong, and an assessment would show them exactly what and why. Enough of them then asked the same follow-on question: you've given us the historical fix, will you also give us an ongoing one? For a long time the answer was no — Payroll Intelligence provides that historical, diagnostic work, it doesn't run payroll day to day. But enough businesses asked that in 2023 we built the team that would. Tempus is that team: a fully managed payroll service, staffed from day one by people who had already seen exactly where payroll goes wrong, and knew what to stop before it started.

What Ten Years Across Payroll and Workforce Management Taught Us
Ryon G. is the General Manager at Tempus. He's spent over ten years in workforce management and payroll across Australia and New Zealand — rosters, timesheets and pay runs through to the outcomes that follow, seen from both sides: the businesses running it, and the people whose pay depends on it.
